Switchfoot on Grace

(UPDATE @ 6:05pm:) You can download/purchase this video from here for $1.99. They're the folks who made it.

I think the idea of grace is my favourite topic around which most of my philosophical ruminations revolve, and its been one big reason why I relate so much with Switchfoot - because they seem to share that fascination with grace ("Living is Simple" is the foremost example that comes to mind). So I was glad to stumble by this video from back in the day where the guys open up on faith, fake, and the like. I don't know the source of this video - seems like a fan interview turned into a well-edited clip. Anyway, here:

okay, try this. go here. now hit pause when it starts playing. wait till the red "mercury" on the seekbar goes all the way till the end (it might take a whiiile), which means the video is fully loaded/buffered. then you can hit play and watch it uninterrupted.

Oh man, I love them. Really, I've never seen or heard anything where they talked so openly about integrity and honesty and grace, but it's true that those things are so apparent in their music, which is one of the huge reasons that I love Switchfoot. I wish more bands were like them, by pairing their beliefs and their music so seamlessly and so well.

Anyone who builds his life on the rock, shall stand! And Jesus is the Rock of Ages! Switchfoot is doing a great job I believe and I think if such things as Beyonce's videos could be censored so that it does not make the weak ones fall because of a bad example (though may well be unintended! and who is not weak if you seriously consider that).... that should in itself be a great service! God bless!
