Listen to Relient K's "Deathbed" (feat. Jon Foreman)

I'm not really a Relient K fan, but this song has me really impressed. :)

(NOTE: The song isn't in two segments - I just split the file - it's one song lasting 11 minutes and 5 seconds.)

Their new album featuring this song releases March 6th, a week and a half from today.

    hello Phil,
I am not fanatical of Relient K, but I like the letter of this song although she is so long.
it is too much 9 minutes to listen to sing Jon. although it is worth them

I am a huge Relient K fan - their last two releases are two of my favorite albums ever. But I'm really nervous about this album, because I just don't like what I've heard from it. I mean, this song is very epic and impressive and well-written, but something about it doesn't do it for me. Maybe it's the overproducedness of it. Maybe it's because Matthew Thiessen takes himself too seriously, now, and his humor has always been one of the things that makes Relient K great. I don't know, but I think this album might signal the end of my fanatical Relient K loving.

Having said that, I have still preordered the album, and I am spending a ton of money to go see them in May, so it's not as if I hate them. I'm just a little wary of it all. :)

Oh, and Jon's voice sounds awesome on this track.

Sorry, this was really long. I'll get off my soapbox now. :)

I love RK. Jon's voice sounds fab on this song.

I agree with Jill kinda..I don't know if I'm gonna like their new album better than "Mmhmm".

I didn't really like mmmhmm that much, but I might have to get this album. Their single is bouncy and fun; and this song goes one step farther.

Why does Matt sing the "I am love" part?

As quoted by three very smart people... "Relient K is the Christian-ized Fall Out Boy." Fun to listen to, and certainly catchy.. but that's about it.

I do love this song. It usually makes me cry. So I guess that's a good thing.

I've been waiting to listen to this! I like it..and it's different than i expected. Better.
    Gracias for posting it.
I'm definitely getting their cd next week.
And yeah, why does Matt sing the 'I am love part'? It's certainly still God saying it.. I guess he just wanted it to end with him singing again.. Which is what I'd expect instead of letting someone else finish the song.
Jon sounds great though. Reminds me of New Way to be Human days..

I was completely and brilliantly surprised to hear Jon Foreman's voice on "Deathbed." Both bands impress me as continually exposing their fragile states of humanity to their audiences. They should be applauded and regarded as present-day Peters, Pauls and Timothys in this ever-judgemental world. Thank the Lord for Relientk and Switchfoot attempting to try and keep it real.

I love this song and I am a HUGE switchfoot fan and just hearing Jon sing makes my heart happy and I get so emotional whenever I hear him sing. He is amazing! Switchfoot has had a huge impact on my life since I was about 6 or 7 and I got their first cd. I just love hearing him sing in this song with another of my favorite bands Relient K. Im so glad both of these bands Switchfoot and Relient K still are amazing without losing sight of their faith in God and going mainstream. Just like Tim Foreman said..we arent christian by genre..we are christian by faith. ROCK ON SWITCHFOOT for God..

but yeah jon is great in this, i couldnt figure out who it was at first

but this is a great song. and although the new album isnt as much like the punky rock with all the puns and great music i started loving them because of.... but now hey have transformed, starting with mmhmm, and now five score and seven years ago

This is a beautiful song. And Jon sounds great. Relient K is my second favorite group, with Switchfoot being number 1.

The album is very good, but I like mmhmm a little bit more.

And to answer someone's question. I believe that part of the song is what Jesus told the dead man, which explains why Matthew Thiessen is repeating "I am Love"

Also, whoever says RK is only good for being catchy and fun to listen to is full of crap, they are amazing geniuses...have you ever listened to MMHMM or Two Lefts??? Pure amazingness, seriously, some of the best lyrics I know of. Their new one is no dissapointment either.
