| Are you a lurker? It's de-lurking time! |
The stats on the just-concluded poll show that 24% of 103 voters were either unsure about this, or were freaked out by it / it made them cringe.
Well, I'll just say I'm glad the majority laughed, and move on. Thanks to everyone who voted.
A new poll is up, and, it's self-explanatory. I'm just trying to figure out where all you lovely folks come from to read my untrained words (wait, no, that might be my ego speaking, you came here for the downloads, didn't you? :p) EDIT: Uh oh, I forgot to add "Google Search" as an option.
So I felt like taking an off-day (apart from the poll), and decided why not celebrate De-lurking Day today? I got the idea from Veerle's pretty blog. If you're a lurker, i.e. someone who visits the site but is too shy or lazy to comment, or you've just had nothing to say, I kindly invite you sirs and madams to step up, say hello, tell us your name and a little bit about yourself, so I have a better idea of who I'm writing for. :) I know I haven't exactly been exemplary on that front - so allow me to rectify that: The one thing about me that you all didn't know and are waiting to know, of course, is that I love Switchfoot. The rumours are true. I'm 20, I live in Vancouver, BC, Canada, and I've lived here for nearly 2 years now. Before that, I've briefly lived in Singapore (I was with YWAM), and grew up in India. Being an international student may be a pain financially, but it's quite an adventure to be in a foreign country with no family or good ol' friends around. I will be going back home to India on the 30th, for a few months, for the first time since I moved here, so I'm pretty excited about that. I started out wanting to major in Cognitive Science, but now I'm planning to switch to Journalism. 'Cause I like writing, it's fun. Why? Because I can fool gullible people into thinking I'm actually a good writer. mwahaha
That's enough about me, your turn now. Happy De-lurking Day! (Now go on and wish me the same, you lurker, you.)
Looking forward to seeing your first comment on this site, I promise I will reply. And yes, I will take it personally if you don't comment (even though I wouldn't be aware of your existence.) :DLabels: polls. |

well, ok. i'll stop lurking. hi, i'm called gellie. people think i'm 14, but really i'm closer to 19. i like switchfoot, soccer, and goldfish.
-
my name is rachel and I'm a lurker. I have been (for lack of a better word) non-lurking for *looks at watch* 7 minutes.
I would like to say awesome job to phil.awesome job, phil!!I love this site!!and I will try to be less lurky(not sure if that's even a word-well it is now)in the future.
-
yeah, you caught me. I've been lurking a bit myself. I'm just amazed at how "all out" you have gone for this site. I thought I was a pretty big Switchfoot fan, but I've since realized that I've got a long way to go.
I'm Ryan by the way.
-
My name is Sam and I am a lurker I was introduced to Switchfoot by a family friend and am now pretty much in love with them. Not as obsessed as some, but come on, you can't deny that these guys are awesome!!
-
Greetings from the other side of the world! My name is Joanna and i'm a 19 year old australian. I LOVE switchfoot as do many people around here
-
I'm not a lurker...am I, Phil?
That's pretty cool that you get to go back to India for awhile.
Where in India did you grow up?
-
Ok, First step. Admitting you're a lurker.
Check. my name is Ashley, or I sometimes go by Ash. I love laughing, reading, and Switchfoot. I really like this site because it always has the most up-to-date info on all SF related things, and between switchfeed.com, switchfoot.com and youtube it's where I spend most of my time. So that's it I guess, Happy De-lurking Day!
-
If I ever wrote a book, I think I would name a character Phil because you are so darn cool! (But still a loser)
-
I think you got the lazy thing down pat when it comes to me. Comments take too much effort. I say you set up an audio comment system where all I have to do is press a button, and then grunt or moan into the mic as a sign of my approval of the day's excellent blog post.
*returns to lurking-mode*
-
Hey right now I've just find your blog and like I ussually do, I was going to take a glance and leave unnoticed. But then I read the lurking day thing, felt guilty and shamed, and decided to leave a comment. I'm Maria Belen, 21 year old ecuadorian girl, who studied Business Administration and of course, I love switchfoot! Their music isn't very popular in my country, almost no one has heard about them, but I'm trying to share their songs with many people as it possible, 'cause their music has helped me in so many ways and I'm so grateful with these San Diego kids!
-
Hey Phil plus everyone that's reading this, I'm Liz, and I'm 100% lurker. Pretty much.
This site is amazing, and I can attribute many hours of my free time here:)
And I think I'll try to break the lurking cycle:) thanks!
-
I'm Jess & I'm sixteen and the last time I saw Switchfoot, Gellie said my name was Katie.
Oh, and I love this site more than my unwanted Biology homework that Ive been putting off by being on it. AMAZING Phil. :)!
-

I generally comment pretty often, but I haven't left one in awhile, so I thought I'd say hi. Hi. Even when I don't leave comments, be rest assured that I am still reading switchFeed obsessively. I'm not really sure how to vote in the new poll. I might say "other website", but that might be cheating, since it was my own website. Maybe I'll pick "other", but that just feels so wishy-washy. Ok, sorry I'm rambling. Bye.
Jill
-
Phil sorry but I think your poll has a phony option: friends? you? na!
:-P'''
and Sam is the man. called it.
lurkerlurkerlurker
-
Hey Phil, this is a good way to break the ice for all of us lurkers - haha! I'm Kate, 20 years old, and from Connecticut, oh and I too love Switchfoot. I've been a faithful reader ever since Tim's shoutout. Switchfeed is the best - thanks Phil!
-
Hi. I'm Andrew (I also go by Elmo) and I guess I'm the youngest one here at twelve. Of course I love sitchfoot and no one has ever heard of them where I live. That would be always awesome Jersey. I just went to the philly' show three days ago which was awesome and horrible at the same time (check out the "stars" bootleg) So I stopped lurking and I'm glad
bye
-
Alright, I'm coming out of seclusion.
I'm Rose, I'm about to turn 18.
I like cheese.
Thank you.
Goodnight, and good luck.
p.s. Andy if you are reading this, this is random but you rock at bass, man. Nice.
-
To mmroww/Jess/Katie: hehe. sorry. I guess you just looked like a Katie. Maybe you look like someone I know named Katie, and that's why I said you looked familiar on the sidewalk in Lancaster. (p.s. that was a good sidewalk, wasn't it? what an exciting walk i remember that being...) but next time I see you, i'll either: a.)try to remember that you're really jess, or b.)just not call you anything if i can't rememebr. especially not katie. unless you're ok with katie. then i might just keep calling you that.
...i type too much.
-
YAY - frankie's back!! (hi, son!)
ok, i'm not a lurker, but i can think of at least one person who probably wishes i were. :o) (and you know who you are...) i'm heather. i'm - let's say, (cough) older than pretty much most of you, but i'm not ancient OR decrepit, and i'm definitely more immature than most of you. i have a job as a customer service rep, and i live in the midwest. Of course, i'm here because of my brothers in SF, and my other brother, phil. couldn't live without any of them. ;o) oh, and this is also where i met my son.
-
hello, i am a lurker!
let's see, i've liked switchfoot for about 5 years and i'm going to my first show on friday in cincy! :) i've been reading switchfeed pretty much since it started.
anyway, phil that's cool that you were with YWAM; there's like 6 twentysomethings at my church who've done that, which is most of them!
i'll try to comment more often :)
-
My gosh, homeslice! You're a good writer, you should seriously consider Journalism. I think you should even get a scholarship, especially from a Switchfoot academy if there is one (or should there be one). :D
I hope you'll always stay online... 'cause I'll be missing my "morning coffee/happy Phil" if you're not around. :)
Take care, hun!
-
can't call myself a lurker, but I missed de-lurk day by about a week and half....I've been lurk-free for 2 weeks tomorrow! score...and its a sweet life :D The name's Mukta, I reside in Toronto, Canada where the weather likes to be unpredictable, and the public transport is always in a general state of crapiness.
@g...I second that motion! Phil deserves a Switchfoot Academy scholarship
@heather...where can I pick me up some relatives? I don't have any that are closer than half-way-across the ocean...and you seem to have an abundant supply... :D
-
forgot...I'm 18, still can't drive, and I also heart Switchfoot!
-
Hey Phil, great job on the website. It's probably my internet find of the year. All of us switchfooters really appriciate it :)
So, my name is Jordan and...yeah, I'm a lurker. Let's see, I love snow and winterish everything, enjoy napping, dislike horseradish, and still sometimes acidentally ask people, "have you ever heard of a band called Switchfoot?" And then I feel pretty stupid. Wow. The above sounds like a cross between an AA meeting and a personal ad. Crazy.
Happy de-lurker day, everyone!
-
Hmm. i suppose i'm a lurker, but not for long! i'm justine. i'm seventeen, 6'1", and i live in the middle of nowhere (like, look out my bedroom at horses/it's a fifteen minute drive to anything middle of nowhere), about 45 min north of toronto, ON, canada.
what else.. i love switchfoot like nothing else, but more than anything i'm proud to call them brothers in Christ. my faith is a big part of who i am, and i love listening to music that questions things as much as i do but still remains true. Oh, i play flute, and i'm hoping to become a music therapist someday! it's a career that involves my two passions: people and music, so hopefully it works out.
It's wonderful to be in such a community of awesome people here & on the boards, lurkers or otherwise, and Phil you're just the coolest. have an amazing time in India. i wish to go there someday.. but that's definitely not soon! Sorry about the horrendous length of this de-lurkifying... Have a wonderful day everyone!
-
I'm not sure I entirely count as a lurker, as I posted a comment a couple of weeks ago.. but oh well.. My name is Katrina (obivously..), I'm 20 years old, and I attend the University of Calgary :x (bleh!) The only good thing about the school is that SF played there, and everytime I walk by the venue (which is at least twice a day..) I get a goofy smile on my face.. On a random side note I came across the site when Phil posted his interpretation of Oh! Gravity on the borads, I was floored and have been hooked ever since. On a second random side note, I was the 50 001 hit on the site, and I'm a really big dork so I took a pic of it and thought I would ask Phil if he wanted it.. but I never did.. so umm.. Phil you want the pic??.. For nostalgia's sake? I shall try to reduce my lurking tendencies, but I'm not making any promises. I lurk EVERYWHERE! (herm.. I think that came across alot creepier than I had expected..)
-
I've just come to the reality that I'm surrounded by teenagers... intelligent ones though. Like, who listens to Switchfoot but intelligent people, yes? :D
I suppose now's the time to tell everyone that I may be the oldest here at 33... eeeeek! (Seeing that Jerome is older, I may not be THAT old, aye? Ayes?!) ;D
I'm commenting/de-lurking from that hard to spell city 15-30 minutes (depending on traffic or the way you drive) from Toronto, Ontario (where magic happens... like a Switchfoot concert.) :D
I'm a big fan of Switchfoot and Phil's writing. ^_^
@Justine -- Wow. You're tall. I envy you. :)
@Mukta -- I'm waiting to de-lurk myself on your blog too eh? :D
Take care all you lovely people!
-
@gellie- you're 14, don't lie. :p
@rachel- congratulations on non-lurking and thanks for your kind words!
@ryan fowler- hi. haha yeah while i probably am a bigger fan than you (:p) i have to say i started it as a "journalism portfolio" type thing, and then fans and the band loved it beyond my expectations, so it became more purposeful. :)
@anonymous/Sam- i swear i'm "not obsessed as some", either. :p welcome, my friend.
@joanna- cheers, mate. i love people from down under.
@frank- ofcourse you're a lurker, no question about it. good to see you're still alive. :) i grew up in bombay, now ungracefully named "mumbai", the capital of bollywood.
@ashley- laughing is one of my hobbies too. :) congrats on de-lurking.
@Jacob- thanks for being honest bro, i have to agree with you on that last one. :p glad you de-lurked.
@christina- lol, that's a great idea, too bad i don't have the skills to set that up. but you're a very marginal lurker - cause you comment every once in a while.
@maria belen- welcome, and props to you for de-lurking! ecuador, eh? exotic. it reminds me of that song by Sash (was it Sash?) anyway, hope you stick around! :)
@liz- thanks for your kind words! welcome the non-lurking club. ;)
@mmroww/Jess- that's not surprising, gellie managed to turn my simple name into "pok". welcome. and thanks!
@joyce- that's awesome, good thing you got to meet jon. and good thing you de-lurked :)
@jill- good to "see" you. i still owe you an email. soon, my friend.
@lurkerlurkerlurker- that's a monster of a name. congrats on delurking..er.. lurkerlurkerlurker. =]
@anonymous/Kate- thank you, thanks for reading!
@andrew- i like the number 12. good on you for delurking, have a super day.
@ssp529- yeah, YWAM is awesome. and you're gonna have so much fun at that show, you have no idea. brace yourself for the time of your life. glad you delurked :)
@g- you're the kindest. thanks. i love your writing, too, and i would comment on there more often if i had the time.
@jordan- haha i catch myself asking that question randomly sometimes too. happy de-lurking, and thanks for reading, amigo.
@justine- you play flute? that's awesome. and music therapist sounds like a lot of fun. good luck with all that. happy delurking!
@katrina- hahah that's awesome, go ahead and email it to switchfeed@gmail.com. thanks for reading.
-
Ahh.. hello! My name's Sarah. I'm sixteen and I'm also from Vancouver. I didn't find switchfeed until not too long ago, but have been shamelessly lurking ever since :o
;D
-
Hey love,
I'm Kendahl. I am officially de-lurking myself. ha. Like everyone else here, I'm a fan of Switchfoot. But I don't know if I'm as hXc as you are. =P
I'm fifteen and also from Vancouver. I'm quite fond of photography, tea and modern art.
p.s I must say you are an amazing writer + this site is definitely the bomb diggity.
Cheers.
-
Hey there. My name's Jordan, I'm 19, and I live in Toronto. I actually stumbled across your site just a few days before the Toronto concert because I was searching for new acoustic versions and such. I bookmarked your site immediately and I check it every day. Great work, and keep up the top notch quality!
-
I can't wait til these posts start getting over 100 comments. Like get up the mugglenet.com sized commenting. Massive. (Yes, I love MuggleNet.com. That's my de-lurking confession.)
-
look at all this canadian love, that's awesome.
I'm krista and I mostly lurk. I'm 23 and live in alberta. I hate switchfoot and I don't really know why I'm here. just kidding!
-
@PHIL: that makes you 14 too, don't lie. >opens eyes wide<
-
huh....i think i delurked at the wrong place......OH well!
-
hi.
I'm Hailey. I'm 19. I'm awkward.
-
That's a lot of lurkers...and those are just the ones who commented. Scary.
And Phil says I'm a lurker...So I guess I should just admit that I am...*sigh*
I'm Frank...most of the time... I'm 16...And...
...I dance...ballroom dance. A lot.
-
Wow...okay I didn't mean to be lurking. Seriously! I found your page a couple weeks ago? I think it was...and I can honestly say I came for your words, not your downloads...to date I haven't downloaded a single thing off your site...However I could change that!! I'm 20, I live in Ohio...have the majority of my life, but I was born in Virginia. I'm a college student. A business major. I have no clue what I'll do with my major, but from what I hear you can do a lot of things with a business major. A Switchfoot fan for about 4 years now...or something like that. I was a fan of Switchfoot, liked the music, long before I learned who the band was...I like them more even now. I've seen them in concert twice, Friday will make a third time. And it's dorky(so I've been told) how excited I am about such an event! I think that's it...and I shall apologize again for lurking...and claim that I didn't realize that I could comment...and I vow to comment more often in the future!
-
Not delurking, since I've commented before. I'm Bridget, 30-something (Shhh) with two kids and a husband and I'm the owner of the Nothing in the World could Fail me Now tattoo that's part of the tattoo post. I write a journal here on the net and read Switchfeed because it's got everything, and when I'm not doing that, I write columns and stories and novels and listen to Switchfoot some more.
-
I'm Kim, 27, mother to the great American 2 1/2 children (literally; June is when I will become the above average American with 3 kids)
I never lurk. Lurking is creepy, and people think I am strange enough without adding the label "lurker" to my long list of oddities.
I was born and raised in the Philippines - even though I am technically American. I feel like the last 13 years that I have spent here have been in a foreign country. I just don't get you people!!, but I must say that you have grown on me.
There's a lot more, but I will spare you.
Phil, you rock!!
-
Hello! Well okay, I'm delurking ^^ I must admit that I've been lurking here for a while! My name is Emelyne, I'm 17 and I come from Belgium. I've been a Switchfoot fan for about a year now, when I discovered Dare You To Move in A Walk To Remember. The guys are totally unknown in my country so it's great that people like you Phil are connecting people around the world through a website :)... I think you really are talented (and soooo lucky!! ;) ), and I LOVE reading your texts, those are so inspiring :).
That was my De-Lurking time! See ya ^^
-
Hey alright you got me. My name's Steve, I'm a sophomore at Chico State in CA and I'm 19. Switchfoot and Mute Math are my favorite bands, I've seen Switchfoot 5 times, met the guys, got the pictures, autographs, the whole nine. I'm into film and hope to be a filmmaker someday. I also love photography. I really love your site and the devotion you've put into this amazing band who I still think is under rated. Rock on!
-
Mukta, you just have to ask. Or claim, if you can't ask. 'course, I can't guarantee what answer you'll get, but that's how i got all my family. phil's being gracious, SF doesn't really know they have a sister, and frank had no choice. I insisted. So. You wanna be my sister? :oP
...just carrying out the "switchfam" thing to its fullest.
-
@heather...my sister moved out...so sure! but...the way I see it, that makes me SF's sister too...so score! share the love all, share the love! and yes, tis very switch-fammy indeed!
-
oh wow so many comments. I'm late. Stupid time difference.
I have to admit that I am a lurker sometimes on this particular website. Sometimes because I feel that if I comment something stupid will come out, or other times, I'm just too lazy. But don't get me wrong, I like it here. Its cool.
So I'm Guimel. I'm 14 and a half. I live in Portugal. I love Switchfoot.
that's all youve got to know.
Ok, let me go de-lurk some more somewhere else.:)
-
Hey I'm Paul, I've been lurking around this site ever since I found all these amazing live recordings, Revenge, and some other stuff I liked. I really really like Switchfoot and have a band myself. My songwriting is influenced greatly by Jon's. If you want to check my band out go here: myspace.com/thebricksrocksite though we are changing names and links soon.
-
-
Hey
I am de-lurking as well. I am 17 years old, a senior in high school and I love music..mainly Switchfoot. I have seen them 3 times (about to be 4) in concert. On another note, I am trying to somewhat plan an "aftershow performance"...do you have any advice on how to make that happen? I absolutely love the site and all the awesome things on here. Keep up the good work and good luck in journalism..not that you need it because you are a great writer.
-
Hey I'm Kitty. I've chatted in the chat a couple of times and it was fun :] I live in Sweden, I'm an IB student, and I would like to study overseas as well.
-
yo, i visit the site often and it rocks phil, keep up the great work. Well im from vancouver. Phil, im the guy that was behind you at the vancouver concert. the guy with the hat
-
my name is Brittany or Britt whatever is fine. I wouldnt be a lurker if I understood how to post a comment lol. But now that I figured it out...I guess I dont have an exuse ;]
-
my name is kristin and people call me k-fish because my first name begins with a k and i always write <>< after my name (and sometimes instead of). i'm a casual lurker, i've posted a few times. i'm addicted to switchfoot so i lurk on a lot of sites....<><
-
Phil! You're quite the popular lad! :D So many people are answering your call...it's great!
-
My name is Rinna. I'm 17. I live in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. I have a 'band'. I suck playing guitar. I have the coolest parrot that ever existed. Do I have to mention that I love Switchfoot? I'm always bored. Puedo hablar espaƱol. I was sleeping 3 min ago. I'm hungry now. I'm heading to the fridge now. ... ... ... ... I'm back. Who wants some Pop-Tarts?
nos vemos, adios.
-
heyhey
so i'm kamila, 22 from vancouver, and i've actually been a lurker for a long, long time - on this blog as well as the official SF boards (for a couple years now, as sad as that is to admit). i'm rather posting-shy =D
ooh, and i've actually met phil, at the last vancouver show as well as at the O!G listening party - good times =) you rock, phil!! i wish i stuck around after the vancouver show with you guys =(
right, i heart switchfoot, my road bike, skiing, swimming and reading - and will now most likely return to lurking land...
-
@sarah- hey! that's awesome- another vancouverite. glad you emerged out of the "shameless" lurking :)
@kendahluuu- hey kendahl, yet another vancouverite! i'm pretty sure you're as hxc as i am. ;) i know this might sound totally contrived, but i love photography, tea, and modern art too. a cup of tea every morning... and sometimes in the evening too. & thanks for the kind words.
@jordan- great, another canadian. :) i'm actually gonna be in toronto a few weeks from now, can't wait. glad you like the site!
@krista- hey albertan. wow, was that 4 canadians in a row? sweetness.
@renny- it's all good, i replied to you on the switchBoard.
@hailey- <3
@frank- you forgot to mention that i'm your dad. ;P
@brittany- haha you don't have to apologize, you're free to lurk if you want, i have no right to demand comments, even if i may jokingly demand it. :p but thanks for the "vow", i look forward to seeing you keep it! :) there is lots you can do with a business major - my brother is a business major. he lives by "earn all you can, save all you can, so you can give all you can". i think it's a quote by john wesley. enjoy your concert tomorrow!!
@bridget- i should post your story sometime soon, i keep putting it away.
@kim b.- congrats on the new baby coming up! :) "you have grown on me" haha. thanks for reading!
@emelyne- thanks for the kind words! good job on delurking :) i discovered SF through a walk to remember, too. well, my friend first made me hear a song and then she got me to watch the movie.
@steve- i like mutemath too. and yep, switchfoot is underrated, which is part of the reason why i started this website! their greatness needs more attention. :) thanks for reading!
@switchfootprincess- hey pip. you're not a lurker. you comment once in a while... :) and you've never said anything stupid, so you should feel free to comment more ;)
@paul d- hey paul, i'll check out your band. good luck with it! thanks for reading bud.
@eunice- haha i'm flattered. thanks for reading!
@mallory- props for delurking! well, there's no fixed formula to plan an aftershow, but i guess you could talk to the manager at a nearby pub/coffeeshop before the show and get their 'okay' and then talk to jon about it when he comes out after the show. that's if they don't already have one planned. good luck with that. and thanks for your kind words :) glad you like the site!
@kitty- kitty, i spoke to your sister jenny yesterday and she asked me if i'm the phil who runs switchfeed cause her sister loves the site. and i was like yeah! haha, what a small world. you're my friend's sister - thats awesome. i did IB too. more power to IB students :) thanks for reading! (oh and i left you a message on the boards, on that thread about the swedish newspaper article.)
@anonymous- hey guy with the hat! i'm sorry i don't remember your name but you rock. i think i briefly referred to you on my concert review. glad you delurked, thanks for reading! :)
@britt- i'll call you britt since there's another brittany, so it saves confusion. and yeah, now that you figured it out, you don't have an excuse ;P
@k-fish- hey kristin! yeah, i've seen your comments. thanks for readin!
@rinni- yes, can i have me some pop tarts?
@kamila- dude, we need to hang out sometime! my phone's not workin right now but i'll give you a call once i pay the friggen phone bill. and yeah, you should've stuck around after the show... oh well, next time. and don't be so posting-shy, we don't bite ;)
thanks once again everyone for reading and for answering the call to delurk! i am humbled by the overwhelming response. you guys rock. i look forward to seeing you guys comment more often now that you've got over the initial jittery. :p have a great day everyone!
-
hope it's not too late for de-lurking myself.... oh well: I'm heraing Jon Foreman screaming "I dare you to move" right now through my headphones and I come across this post on your site: there's got to be something in it:) My name's Magda, I'm 22, I live in Poland and hope to be a translator one day. Beside Switchfoot, Mute Math and music in general I love art in every form. Thx for reading:)
-
awwww , happy belated de-lurking day! im sorry i missed it! so i am a sentimental teenybopper from New Jersey! My name is sarah- i love the library and my mom; i hate geometry and the word lol, and i am a firm believer in hugs, poetry, English Breakfast tea, and "fighting for the true and the beautiful". I discovered this site while writing my research paper-well actually i was supposed to be writing but i had just discovered a beautiful bunch of Vancouver aftershow vids on youtube. Four new songs, i just had too!!! i think it was the betrayal vid (i saw your head phil!!) that said, "lyrics available on switchfeed.com". i clicked and fell in love, with the labrynth of information, with the people commenting, and all the work and love being put into the site. I've never encountered commenters who were smart, polite and opinionated at the same time! go phil, go! keep up the good work, we all love this place!

hmmm, I guess I was in my head. lol. Yeah, I'll make sure I wont get too lazy to comment or something. Besides everything that I'd like to say about this website has already been said:) I know, I know, its no excuse right? haha :)
I'll try to comment more.

I'd do a whole schpiel, but I no longer lurk here at sFeed. I was here at the beginning when sFeed was born but stopped lurking in Jan. sFeed is maturing nicely!
And wow, Phil. Nice idea to create this post. I'm astounded at the turnout. Thumbs way up! Adios, bro,
Emily

@magda- it's never too late my friend! all the way from poland - welcome. thank YOU for reading!
@anonymous/sarah- i think your comment is my favorite on this thread. "I've never encountered commenters who were smart, polite and opinionated at the same time!" - way to go, readers. i must say i am proud of the way people conduct themselves on this site. so far we've not had any rudeness or inappropriate comments, which is great for a public-domain site of reasonable popularity. keep fighting for the true and beautiful, and thanks for sharing your story of how you found this site, i love it.
@emily- thanks...sis? :)

oO man..I was gonna post here a while ago but I guess I forgot. Hmmm....Oo well. I'll de-lurk anyway. My name is Mabel and I'm a Switchfoot addict...I also love pigs. Yes, I love pigs. I have a whole collection of it. 187 and growing. Not real pigs mind you...though one day I hope to have a pet pig and name him Jon/Tim/Drew/Chad/Jerome. hehee J/k. My favourite pig item is a pig I made out of felt. His name is Jonafin (guess who he's named after?) and he's currently a little more than 1 years old. He follows me wherever I go. We recently attended the switchfoot concert in toronto and he got a picture with Tim (though Tim has no idea..i kinda snuck Jonafin in the pic..lol..too bad the pic is really blurry). Jonafin is also a big fan of Switchfoot. I made him a Switchfoot shirt and he wears it 24/7. Oh! Jonafin also has his picture on the "Thank You" collage made by the gals at land of broken hearts (Thank you girlies!..)
Anyhoo I live in Toronto (That's just like....the opposite side of the country from where you live phil..maybe you should come visit sometime..) and am currently in my 2nd year of university majoring in psychology and criminology. I am rather confused about my future and what I can do with my degrees but the important thing is, I love switchfoot. <3

OH MY WORD!! MABEL!!!! i can't believe this - i was in line behind you with my sister at the toronto show, and we took a trip to loblaws together!!!!! how are you? oh man i love the switchfamily. we're the best.

I'm Jennifer and I'm 23. I've been a fan of Switchfoot for 2 years now. I've been lurking here for a couple of months. Great blog! It is by far the most unique SF website. Thank you for your writing and free downloads.

Hello all -
Guilty! I am most definitely a "lurker" here, and mostly prompted to post in this because a certain Phil found out that I lurk :P
I'm Brittany, 18 years old; I love the outdoors, soccer, traveling, music (probably a bit too much for my wallet), and writing. I'm also a sucker for a good cause that makes a difference in people's lives and in our world. I'm going to Virginia Tech this fall for English, which is subject to change to Journalism or Philosophy, or combination of 2 of those 3. I've been a fan of Switchfoot since 1999 - they've definitely been tremendous examples of musicians, and more importantly, artists (there is often a sharp difference between the two terms these days). I've seen them live MANY a time, and enjoyed every second.
I'm shamefully addicted to chocolate, tea, music, and am way too dependent on fast food.
Hmmm....yup! I think those were the high points. :]

Hello Phil. I am indeed a lurker, but mostly because I don't feel like I would ever have anything to say. I'm 19. I'm from a suburb of Chicago, but right now I'm in Sweden, studying abroad. I like switchfoot too much. It's kind of a problem. I've seen them in concert about 6 times. I believe that there is nothing more enjoyable than standing in a packed venue listening to Switchfoot play their songs to me. Oh, and so me and my friend talk about you in conversation...is that weird? haha. Your site is great!

Hi, I'm Catherine and I was a lurker until now. I'm 15 and a huge fan of Switchfoot. I annoy my family with my obsession. I'm from AZ, and saw Switchfoot once in concert during the fall Oh! Gravity tour. I gotta say this site is awesome. I knew about it for a while and checked up on it more recently. Well that's pretty much it about me but now I'll try to comment more often!

@mabel hahah. psychology & criminology = good stuff. i'm actually gonna be in toronto for the weekend at the end of this month... 30th-4th. :) we should have a toronto switchfams party...or "reunion" :D
@daisy i didn't know that's what TLA stood for!
@jennifer thank you! :) hope you delurk some more ;)
@brittany briiit deary what's up. glad you delurked. i didn't know you were a fan since '99, wow that's a long time. good stuff. comment more often. it's an order. ;)
@laila haha that is kinda weird but i guess it's something i have to get used to when i run a website like this :p more than weird, it's an honor. thanks for reading! :)
@anonymous/Catherine welcome! i annoyed my family for a while with my love for SF, too, but now they've all turned into fans haha. and yeah, commenting more often is a good idea! :p makes this place a lot more fun, ya know.

PHIL!
OMG yes! we really SHOULD have a switchfoot family getogether! That would make me so happy!! My exams won't have started yet so it'll be perfect!
Mukta has to come too and every other switchfoot toronto family member! yay!!
-
Hey Phil! I'm the other half of the "weird conversation" about you mentioned by Laila above. I also must admit that I am a lurker. I'm 20 years old and from central Illinois where we know all about corn and Abe Lincoln. I guess you could say that I love Switchfoot like a fat kid loves cake and I can't wait for my next chance to see them in concert :) This is a great site! Thanks for all of the work that you put into it!
