Tattoo update, new site-launches, great live videos!
The post showcasing Switchfoot tattoos has been updated with images of sarajane's "Beautiful Letdown" tattoo, which she emailed me - she had the "Learning to Breathe" one (which we'd already posted) on one of her wrists, now we learn she has another tat on the other wrist. Pretty cool, I must say.
Tim saw her tat before the show she went to, and got Jon to have her pulled up on stage during the show. Girls often complain about the guys letting only guys up on stage (for obvious reasons), so this was a pleasant sight: Thanks for sharing, sarahjane. Good on you for being so composed - a reminder that there are female fans who are in it for the music.
The talented Cassie, who's our resident graphic-designer, just opened a new graphics-focused Switchfoot site alongwith her twin sister, called "Deficiency Of Love" aka DOL. Check it out. (Added to "switchFriends" link-list.) Update: I just checked out their graphics section..um...wow.
LOBH launched a pretty sweet Switchfoot picture gallery. Go take a plunge! And bookmark it as an answer to all your Switchfoot picture needs.
Canadian fans are continuing their legacy of quality video bootlegging of Switchfoot shows, as evidenced by these two great YouTube finds from LOBH's Jeanna. The first is a performance of "The Shadow Proves The Sunshine" in Toronto, and the second is "The Blues" in Ottawa. Enjoy:
In other news, Jon Foreman shares a montage featuring Switchfoot's favourite podcast moments, here.
And lastly, I did a couple things to make this site load faster - do you guys notice any improvement?
Phily! I'M one of the female fans who are in it for their music and I'm sure A LOT of female switchfoot fans out there are the same. I mean, I'm not saying I dont think they're cute but I don't like them b/c i think they're cute. Well ...their personality is cute (especially drew...so funny....)and I like them for that too but most importantly, I love them for their musical ability. I'll tell you what I tell all my friends who doubt my love for them: if switchfoot sang songs about "licking lollipops" in "candy shops", I would hate them just as much as I hate that kind of music. I mean, I know a lot of people like it...but I hate it. It has no substance. Well, it has "substance" (as in body substance...as in exploiting a woman's body substance)but it has no SUBSTANCE (as in a meaning other than getting laid by women (yes..plural on woman), getting rich or die trying, buying cars that cost over 9342985230 dollars etc) Know what I mean? so ya..man the point of this rant is that there are A LOT of female fans out there who like switchfoot for their music.
lol sorry.. I hope this doesn't seem like an attack or anything mean. It's really not. just wanted to clear up so stereotypes about girls and their love for a certian band who just so happens to be consisted of awesome guys!
=) "it's a good things my parents named me jon cause that's what everybody calls me"-Jon ^ not only are they musically talented, but are geniuses as well and this quote proves it. (sorry I just had to add it in cause it's one of my all time favourites!)
Hey Mabel, I'm sorry I wasn't clear but I didn't mean to stereotype.. in fact, I completely agree with you, and I was making the point that there ARE girls who are in it for the music. You girls have my complete support and I feel bad that just because some girls are in it for other reasons, you genuine fans miss out on some opportunities like getting to go up on stage as often as guys do. I have some girl friends who are in it purely for the music and great people they are, and I'm tired of hearing them say "just cause you're a guy".. haha.
so yeah, sorry if I wasn't clear, I'm totally with you on this. :)
lol no way! no need to say sorry! it sucks how girls don't get invited up on stage as often as guys though =(. I didn't even know that until you mentioned it. i wonder what it takes to get invited up.....
hahah Mabel, when I first read the post, I was thinking 'woah now...hold it, I'm in it for the music'...but then Phil, I realized what you meant...but thank you for the clarity, it makes us girl fams look a little better :D
Thanks for the link, Phil! =D
