| The importance of a well-shaved look. |
Greetings, readers! In case you are unaware, I'm Gellie and I post sometimes. If you mistake my writing for Phil's (like people have in the past), I won't be offended. And I think Phil actually takes it as a compliment to be compared to me. ;) So go ahead and get us all mixed up, heh. Anyway, onto today's sf-log...
We'd posted the other day about Chad and Jon appearing on San Diego's local KUSI News to talk about the Bro-Am (which by the way is coming up THIS saturday!) To add to that, Jon had also performed an acoustic version of Awakening on KUSI -- here's the link to that video.

Someone recently added a new bit to the Switchfoot article on Wikipedia - a "spotlight on Tim"! Thanks, Alex. So ridiculous, I had to laugh. According to this person, Tim's got a 1-up on Jon for not growing any unruly facial hair. Here it is, for entertainment purposes only. (I'm gonna quote the whole thing, since I'm pretty sure it won't be up on Wikipedia for much longer): Tim Foreman is the bassist of the band. He is Jon Foreman's brother, who is the singer and lead guitarist. Tim is well known for his good looks and great hair. He is known to be the hottest guy in the band, which is true. He has the best sense of fashion too. He mixes and matches his clothes and makes a good fresh look everyday. His hair is a perfect dirty blonde color and it is always parted on the left side and looks neat and tidy everyday. He is always well shaved, unlike his brother Jon. Jon's worst beard and mustache experience was in August 2006, to January 2007. Jon barely ever shaved in this period of time, along with Drew Shirley (guitarist), and Chad Butler (drummer), who both grew long mustaches. Tim Foreman and Jerome Fontamillas (keyboardist, guitarist) both have always had a well shaved look. Tim Foreman is also a great bass player. He has been playing bass since 5th grade. He taught himself how to play, with a little help from his brother Jon. Chad knows Tim as the "World's Fastest Bass Player", as stated in The Official Switchfoot Podcast Episode 6.
So there you have it, folks. Real important stuff to know about Switchfoot. Is it bad that I found that so amusing? Oh, and, while we're at it, we thought we'd share this picture of Tim (we don't know who took it) that disproves some of the above in classic fashion:
As some of you know, at switchfeed.com (a slightly broader version of this blog) we feature an "mp3 of the week" (aka MOTW) column that highlights lesser-known (but still top-notch) artists, with an mp3 download to sample their music. Normally that post is taken care of by indie music blogger Arpit Mehta, but from now on he'll be sharing the column with indie music podcaster (and long-time reader) Jill. @ssp529 - for a second I thought you said "Oh, my spotlight on Tim" and I was like huh? Then I learnt to read. haha yes I liked how Jon's worst beard and moustache experience was dated too.
I also found the "He is known to be the hottest guy in the band, which is true" amusing too (don't take that the wrong way, I'm not saying Tim's ugly lol, I just find it funny that someone said that in such a way. Maybe I should just not say this part instead of digging myself a hole).
I don't think it's bad to find that so amusing either lol. I think it would be bad not to find that amusicing actually...

I loved the Spotlight on Tim. It was a very indepth look at how Tim looks, dresses, and parts his hair. lol. Very amusing.

i love how the table turned to Tim! Well i think, Tim, you should keep shaving, but once in a while dont' just to surprise people. Cuz well i was surprised!! and sorry Jon i wasnt' surprised about the "worst beard and mustache experience", but the dates cracked me up! i think the hole think is pretty holarious.

i think the ruggedness IS Jon! He wouldnt' be JON without his unbrushed, most of the time, sweaty hair. It kinda goes with his scruffy, rugged ROCKER voice! I think the hole thing is funny though!!

Hahaha...i love it. Oh man. That entry could have been written by any of the girls in my youth group...they all LOVE Tim.
But there was a time, way back when, when Tim's hair was nearly black (gasp!). Check switchfootage I if you don't believe me! (Must have been an unfortunate experiment with some hair dye or maybe he just lost a bet on who could have the best-or worst- mustache in a given period of time)

Well... to me Tim's hair looks like a brown with some blonde highlights. And I do hve to say, Tim you look better with out a mustache! Some light facial hair looks good on you, but not a full blown mustache! LOL!! <><

Hey guys, this is a really awesome newsfeed! As one of the few UK fans, I find it hard to get updates on the band that I don't have to be a US citizen to enjoy, such as revised tour dates and appearences etc. But now I have the slightest non-article about the band blogged for my pleasure! (sounds like an insult, but I love to hear things like what Drew ate for breakfast...)
Anyway, thought you might like to know... Remember in the Switchfoot Video Podcast #20 (i think)? The one with the EU tour footage where there was a clip of Jon singing Company Car outside a pub surrounded by crazy fans?! Well, I was one of those fans, and along with my friends filmed the entire thing for posterity.

That is so funny!! I was having a hard time not drawing attention to myself in the computer lab. Sometimes I wish their would be some sort of warning on these post. To tell you not to read them in public so you can bust-a-gut without funny looks!
The girl who wrote this was probably 14 and still thinks she has a shot at marring Tim. Poor girl!! Can't you just imagine her sighing at she talks about his "perfect dirty blonde color" hahaha!!!
And I agree with whoever pointed out that Tim's hair isn't dirty blond. It's very brown....maybe she was mistakenly tlkaing about Jon? His hair is most like dirty blond. But gosh knows he's to untidy!! Anyhow this was hillarious...the comments even made it better.
@Phil, you should try to have Tim send you a picture of his scruffiness...that way Switchfeed can document another "worst beard and mustache experince" And definately keep the dates, because it's significant!!lol

The part that made me laugh the hardest was probably the way she described Jon's growing a beard/mustache as "Jon's worst beard and mustache experience". I love the way she calls it an "experience", like "he experienced it, but we hope he won't make it a habit." lol. Or maybe I'm just rambling. And Tim's "good fresh look"? So the other guys are old and dirty? That's not very nice... :P
I just wish it wasn't off of Wikipedia. :( Thanks for sharing it before it went away!!
