Whip out your flat-irons...

Listen up everybody, I've got news for you. According to this book, one of the defining characteristics of a "Christian emo" is that they listen to Switchfoot. Who knew that we all fit into that category?! You learn something new every day... Thanks to idonick94 on the boards for the info and picture scan:

Now we know what it's like to be labelled. So if you'll excuse me, I have to go flat-iron my hair...

I'm sooo totally emo... uhm, yeah.

Pedro the Lion is considered emo? The hell is wrong with these people? Seriously, they need to stop trying.

lol..Christian Emo. that makes me laugh.

funny, cause when my friend first listened to switchfoot, he thought they were an emo band too.

    from wikipedia
"Emo (an abbreviation of "emotionally-driven Hardcore punk") is a term now broadly used to describe almost any form of guitar-driven alternative rock that expresses emotions beyond traditional punk's limited emotional palette of alienation and rage."

well in that case, i guess i can see why switchfoot would be considered "emo" cause their songs stir up emotion (at least in me).
but still........switchfoot and emo doesn't sound right together.

Just curious, but have you seen the rest of the video from that crusade? I intentionally only uploaded one clip on a hole-in-the-wall punchline of a website because I didn't want to have to worry about being sued over uploading video that I don't own the rights to.

...but, uh, I do have the whole Switchfoot performance, and I have split it into songs (so no further editing would be required to put it up there). I could upload the rest of that if there's interest.

(and for the record, I don't endorse GodTube, I just wanted to take advantage of it by illegally posting professionally produced live performances - and hey, I had some awesome videos of Christian bands laying around, and I still have quite a few more, so I might as well share them with others who care about this sort of thing)

Great idea, ^ Dan. I'd like to see the whole Switchfoot performance and other artists' videos. Thanks.

And yeah, Phil, the first time I saw GodTube I was like o_O + hah! Funny.

Good luck on your exams. I have mine next week as well.

    Happy Tuesday everyone!

That's a really funny image, by the way. Labels are everywhere, I wouldn't feel so bad about it. :P

I suppose I just took the humor for what it is. ;D

Oh yeah, I would flat-iron my hair if I weren't too lazy. :P

yeah, i totally realized that the link was there right after I posted. the whole emo thing is going to die soon. Most people are attracted to emo culture because it seems unique. with all the attention it has gotten in the last 2-3 years it's hardly unique anymore.

@Phil and Rose: I have straightened my hair twice before, you know. WITH a flat-iron...well, ok I didn't do it myself. It took 2 other people with flat-irons about an hour and a half to get through it all. But the end result WAS straight hair.

^2 people for your hair? That's it? haha.

I've used a flat iron for my hair and sure enough the moment I walked out into the snow, it went curly again.
