| Ichthus Festival: new Daily Foot, plus an interview |
Good news everybody: the Daily Foot is back for the summer festivals! Andy started us out with an entry about the guys' performance this past Saturday in Kentucky. As always, a few quality shots of the event accompany his writing.
 Thanks, Mr. Barron!
Also concerning the Ichthus Festival, a Kentucky blogger posted a small review of Switchfoot's set, along with a two-part interview he conducted with the band. You can hear them at his blog, or click here: PART 1, PART 2. Try not to be too distracted by all the background noise - the guys have some good stuff to say.

That's all for this one, folks. Have a good (rest of the) day!Labels: interviews. |

say gellie, what are your thoughts on skinny jeans?

I would loooove to go on late-night sing along and story telling roadtrip with them... oh the fun! lol
Awsome interview!!! It was a bit noisy, but its easy to pick out their voices. It was a very cool interview! The interviewer asked a lot of really good questions!
Jon mentioned Five Iron Frenzy! I have their CD rockin' in my car today! funny! (Random I know, but I never hear people talk about Five Iron Frenzy anymore, and I dont' listen to them often anymore... weird that I popped that CD in today and then I hear Jon mention them. lol)
Sweet post today! :-)

Apart from that fairly loud distracting background noise it was a good interview.
I particularly liked where Jon was talking about how "Only souls can be redeemed by the blood of Christ. So the moment you stamp Christ on anything other than the human soul, you're stepping into some fairly grey area", I think that's what he said anyway...correct me if I am wrong but I'm sure the point is still the same anyway.
I just like the way Jon puts things.
-
...and I liked the part when Tim said "You don't ask questions just to get an answer", I think sometimes it's easy to just want all the answers, but sometimes it's good to be left in wonder.
Then Jon says "There's a certain amount of humility that is attatched to wonder, and a certain amount of pride attached to knowledge and I think the moment you say we know beyond a shadow of a doubt, this exists you can't have faith that exists." I'd never really thought about it like that, but I guess there's a lot of truth to that.
Okay I'll stop quoting it now, it's not like you can't all listen to it yourselves.

@Nat - We just had a conversation at my Bible study last week about how we will never and should never fully understand the awsome power of God. I can't remember exactly how my friend put it, but it was something along the lines of, If we understood everything about God, then the aw of Him would no longer exist. It takes that measure of Faith in the unknown.
anyway... I liked that part too!
I love the way Jon puts things too! He finds the words to things that I never could.

can't wait to listen to this when i get home from work. (in 8 hours. ugh)

jon looks like some scary ghost from The Ring in that df pic Andy took.

OMG!![oh! my gravity] as lydia #1 says it!!! ok i love this interview! i love the part where they guy asked jon if they ever thought they would be so famous, and you can here Tim in the back say straight up "No" but then jon goes on with a story behind it! that was an LOL momment!
"We will let people down"- jon foreman! they have/will NEVER let me down!
"I believe in a God much bigger than that!" -jon foreman! i agree! He is amazing! i just thought those were some awsome quotes!!! kutose to that interview!!! ~lydia [did i quote to much?]

That was a great video. Although it was a little difficult to understand, but it was still good! Some really good questions were raised. Thanks a lot for putting up an interview from that night.
-
I'm really excited the Daily Foot's back! I'll have to listen to the interview later, though. From the quotes above it sounds like another great one.
-
I just love how Jon puts things.
Like with the part about how putting a stamp of Christ on anything but a human soul is getting into gray area. And how a certain amount of pride is attatched to knowledge and a certain amount of humility is attatched to wonder. And other parts too but yeah. Great interview!

Wow, that was an amazing interview! Hard to concentrate on it at times, but so worth it... Jon is right, God is bigger than the venue, He can work anywhere He pleases, in a church or in a club. I also like where He says about only souls can be redeemed by the blood of Christ, and then later He says again that as Christians we have to be careful we don't become part of a Christian culture instead of followers of Christ, which is kind of the issue I have with Christian culture too. Awesome interview!

Hey, it's the interviewer here. Thanks so much for the props. It means a lot when ardent fans find something of value in an interview. And my apologies for the sound. We were a few hundred yards away from the mainstage at Ichthus, so I was happy we got anything. Next time around, I'll ask for better conditions. BTW, there's a Relient K interview from this weekend on my blog (much better sound) where we talked a bit about Switchfoot. Again, thanks for kind words, sorry about the sound.

Don't ask, don't read: In 1876, a young girl named Jenn was walking down a river, an insane man killed her by stabbing her in the back, raping her, and then hanging her in his closet. Now that you have read this message, she will haunt your house for 5 years. Every night when you go to sleep she will appear in your closet, hanging their with her glowing red eyes. repost 3 times to be saved.

@anonymous- sorry but i don't believe in chain letters. I believe that if I am a Christian I will be safe and no demons or anything like that can come near me or in me.
