The most unconvincing advertisment ever?

Ok, really, no offense to those who made this, but am I terrible for having a laugh at it? It's so ridiculous I couldn't help myself. Watch:

Whoever made it, I love you man, don't take it personal, but that's just hilarious (or as my friend here on AIM preferred to say: "torturous").

they should maybe get someone to sing who can actually hit the high notes.

Whoa, this was really lame. I laughed at their attempts to sing. I sure hope that none of them thought they were good singers because it was awful.

My torture was relieved when Jon's voice came in around 1:55 and rescued my poor ears. My stomach got its workout for the day from all the laugher. :)

you know, the funny thing is, (and this is what made me even more defensive in my commentary on it), the video was emailed to us by the guy who made it. yep. i'm so mean.

Wow! I don't take back any of my comments even though I am very blunt. But perhaps I could have been a bit nicer if this was serious and not a joke. :)

LOL they are going to hurt themselves trying to make those high notes, the video is OK and the guitar is quite fine

BUT THE VOICES and the rewriting its a no...

I thought that was pretty good. Because i know that i wouldnt be able to write something like that. It was kinda weird at the same time

I would be lying if I said that was excellent. But, if the creator of the video wanted it to be seen, I'm sure he doesn't mind the criticism. It's the singing that does it for me..not good.
    Good effort though.

The video is actually put together well, and once the *actual* Switchfoot song kicked in, it was pretty good. I can't really comment on the singing, because... well, you should hear me try to sing renditions of Switchfoot songs. :)

haha. i'll send him a cookie. should be fine.

it's posts like this that make me think maybe sfeed.com shouldn't be official after all (just let the filtered version at sf.com be official, ya know). if this site were official, i doubt i'd be able to post this haha.

I'm sorry, that was intended seriously? The lyrics, the singing (did anyone else notice that pretty much every phrase was out of place), and even the visuals - what the heck was that foot shot about?! I thought the empty seats were a little bit clever but the Bible part - so cliched! Still, they obviously put some effort into it. So good for them. But who advertizes their youth group on Youtube anyway?

my goodness...I thought the beginning was good...before they started the re-writed version of the song....It made me chuckle. Considering I dislike the majority of the covers that end up on Youtube....Jon their not!!!

But then I couldn't stop watching...it's like a car wreck. That was TERRIBLE!!!!

haha. i know who made it. and yeah we are welcome to any criticism. oh the singing was meant to sound stupid :] haha. it was just like a little test/ commercial thing. i mean we only did the whole thing from rewriting, playing singing and recording in like 5 hours haha. and i had just learned the song so i wasnt all that great; but we do plan to make a more serious recording of dare you to move. hope that turns out well. thanks for all the comments, im taking it as good criticism cause it'll help us :]

dude, i'm glad the ppl who made this are completely open to criticism......like their trying to display something good that they want real opinions on......

this sux so bad, they don't deserve criticism, especially if that was their point in posting this in the first place. am i right?

yeah the vid sucked, and was stupid, but hey the very begginning said pple do stupid things, implying it was gonna be stupid. gave me a good laugh.

glad the kids are down with criticism and not mad.

I'm sorry, but I'm not like Tim or Bryant up there open to criticism. I mean sure the vid sucked ,but hey doesn't mean you have to go and shove it down our throats. You know what else? At least we are trying to win people to God. Maybe should've looked at that perspective first.

P.S.: I was the only real singer in there. I was drowned out. =(
