YouTube Scoop #6

I hope everyone is enjoying this column as much as I am. Thanks to everyone who has been watching with me, and of course, thank you to the YouTubers providing this priceless material.

This video, from the Del Mar Fair, has great sound quality, picking up nicely on the strings, horns and Jon's vocals during Only Hope. Plus, it's neat seeing what the stage and crowd look like from far away.

This is a pretty chill version of Meant To Live; and if you like listening to Switchfoot in Spanish, you're in luck!

For many of us, this weekend is very special. It marks the end of a whimsical ten years we spent with "the boy who lived". To honor this momentous occasion, I give you an Oh! Gravity-ized Harry Potter movie trailer.

Have a good weekend y'all!

i toooootally have to comment on every part of this post... :)

[1] i think the sax in 'only hope' is super... but no one's talking about the strings!! i for one am an absolute sucker for a great strings piece--especially one from a cello--& though i always loooove the strings in this song, i thought the cellist did exceptionally well this time. :D

[2] si, amo switchfoot en espanol!! :) i'm such a dork... pretty much the whole song i was trying to use the remnant of my highschool spanish to translate the subtitles in my head... lol :)

[3] i gotta say, i don't completely get how the song & the movie quite fit together but...
since i love the song & i really enjoyed the movie, i'm gonna go ahead & say the combination is awesome. :) yet another thing to make me feel like i should actually go read the books...

I enjoy this YouTube column, but unfortunately what I'm about to say has nothing to do with it.

As I was searching CCLI for 'Twenty-Four' I stjmbled across a list of songs by "Jonathan Forman" which had many (if not all) of the Switchfoot ones, but also included such songs as "Chase My Talk," "Clocks And Clouds," "Destination," ect.*

    link ->

    http://www.ccli.com/songsearch/search.cfm?search_type=byAuthor&author_first_name=Jonathan&author_last_name=Foreman&search_method=exact&search_words=&display_options=

so, can anybody explain this? are these his individual, (relatively) unreleased songs, or are they by some other Jonathan Foreman?

also, my apologies if these are personal and I shouldn't bring them up, Mr. F!

    *no pun intended

    Thanks!

Whoa, yeah i think these are all songs Jon has written. Maybe he submitted them for copyright. I recognize the song We Walk Alone, which was one of the songs considered for Oh! Gravity.! WOW! ~Checks out more...~

    & @Job - lol, word.

@z - haha, no doubt, i wasn't denying mr. denson's talent, or how great the song sounded w/a sax. thats why i told myself to just shut up cause i was coming off like i was dissing him.

Finished the new HP and have to say its got the strongest Redemption theme of any HP book. JKR also made the Christian themes a lot less cryptic anyone could have picked them out, direct biblical Reference made in the book for the first time I can think of in the whole series. I really liked it.
