| Review/previews of jon's "Fall" EP (due Nov 27)! |
update: here's an early review I found to add to this post...
Switchfoot fans, be on the look out. It's nothing ground-breaking, but it is really good. It's very organic/acoustic/folk. Jon Foreman is such a great songwriter. There are very little if any electric instruments used (electric guitar, synths, electric bass, keyboard, etc.) The drums are VERY minimal to say the least. Lots of great instruments like harmonica, violins, cello, double bass, piano, acoustic guitar, trumpet, organ, and something I can't figure out what it is. Maybe an oboe. Either way, after hearing this, I can't wait to hear what's next.

I've listed to each song about 15 times (I'm not exaggerating either.) This is a powerful EP. The lyrics are off the chart and brutally honest. The EP also highlights his insane ablility to lay down some great acoustic guitar instrumentation. Can't wait for this to hit the streets. If the next Switchfoot CD follows the same road, it's going to be great.

Oh wow....thanks for posting the preview. It's like looking at a feast and letting your mouth water over all that you imagine you'll enjoy...

Christmas comes early this year! Last year the poor postal workers almost being knocked down when we all were waiting for Oh!Gravity. I think we need to warn the Post Office. YAY!

I am so excited by this. I've gotten so many friends hooked on Jon's music in the past few months. :) *happy dance* I love new music. Saw the show last night in Ypsilanti and this just tops it all off! :D

and oh...how come Jon wrote on his blog that only the Fall one is comin out on the 27th. awwwww I thought it was suppose to be both together ..like a physical copy? now I'm thinking it's only gonna be out on itunes... :(!!!

Jonathan - that was also used in a (Dove?) commercial on tv... and not to bust your bubble but someone said Switchfoot borrowed that intro. don't know which song it originally is though. anyone know? (anyway it still makes me happy since it's still part of C'mon, C'mon) ;)

Phil: when it comes out do you know if they (jon and the label) are planning on doing any promotion? I was just wondering if they were releasing a single so that I could ask a local radio station to play it. It's a station that likes down-tempo acoustic indie stuff. Anyways, if they aren't planning on promoting it maybe the fans could work together on promoting a single or something over the web.

this is a dream come true! Along with seeing my very first switchfoot show saturday night! whoo hoo!!!! now i have only one more thing to check off my list: "meet switchfoot"! I hear Jon played afterwards, is that true? my fam and i couldn't stay("WHAHHHHHH!") that's what comes of a. living in new jersey b. carpooling and c. having to go to church the next morning. bUMmer

OMG!!! Jon's website looks AWESOME!!! You ROCK Jon!!! And I do have to say that for a guy Jon your handwriting is pretty good (he has handwritten lyrics on his website for the Fall E.P.)!!!!! :) I can't wait to get the Fall E.P. Jon!!! :)

The internet got it wrong. Jon said he was releasing clips on his site a week before the EP was scheduled to come out. So it releases on the internet the 27th.

Oh, okay, thanks for telling me. Oh well, I can wait a week and a half till I get back from vacation to get it. I'm really excited about the ep, it sounds awesome!
