hmm...i was also in the front row and traveled from south bend to watch my favorite band for the second time. Personally I thought the concert was amazing, better than my first. I know there we some hardcore fans out there and our eyes and ears were glued to the stage but i think he might have been right when he said some people just wanted an excuse to crowdsurf. But hey, at least they came out, right?

I can't believe that there are people who seriously believe that Yellowcard and Hoobastank are better than Switchfoot. I suppose if your criteria for a good band includes "loudness" but not "lyrics", "songwriting", or "instrumental prowess", maybe, but then why would you be writing about music at all?

Well it wasn't the statement, "When I first heard Switchfoot was coming, a month or so ago, I thought to myself, "Can't we do better?" That discredited him, it was the comment, "we had Hoobastank, Lost Prophets and Ima Robot. That was a rockin' show that filled Slayter with tons of students." No offense to any fans of those bands around here... but that is crappy music. Hoobastank is the worst band i have ever heard live.

I also would like to publicly announce my affinity for 'crappy bands like Switchfoot'
I also found funny the fact that several times during the review he states that he's sure he's offended people, but that wasn't his intention. I'm loving the hypocracy...I may have given more credit to his review and point of view ( because after all, I am also biased) if he'd gone full out and said he hadn't enjoyed it without trying to pretend he was being objective.

I didn't really like the 2nd review.not just because it 'dissed'Switchfoot but I dont get when he says"I like crappy bands."how can you like a band that you think is crappy?And the other article said that there were fans there and that jon excited the crowd.And that many students hadnt heard of Grand Alternatve, but ALL had heard of Switchfoot.Sounds like the concert went better than he said. So yeah,we were meant to live for so much more...a better review.

I'm a Purdue student and was front row for the whole show. I think the show was amazing. Never before seeing them live, they really impressed me with stage presence and just hardcore rocking. Beyond the concert, they met with the students and signed autographs after the show and they are the nicest rock stars out there. I couldn't have thought of anyone better to have come to Purdue and wish they would come back!
