@ Heather - yes, I am most definitely a California dude (that's right, that's how we roll), but I should mention SoCal (NorCal's a little dreary and depressing :p). And it's just randomly worked out that way - at least half the bands I've posted are Christian, but without any of the "christian music" strings attached. And I can get away with it since Phil posted Starflyer 59 :D

I think Lost Ocean's album came out about a month ago. The whole thing is really excellent. They have this ambient indie pop-ish sound that is somehow really relaxing and really addictive at the same time.

"The show" is my podcast, Ears to Hear (www.earstohearpodcast.com). I play indie music that abounds in overall goodness to listen to. :D

Heh, been their myspace friend for about 6 months now - they're pretty good - haven't heard the album though - I believe it just came out in the last couple weeks, yeah?

@ Emily - what browser are you using? It should allow you to save... it's just a standard mp3 file.

hmm... I actually have permission to play FoF on my podcast, but I've only played one of their songs, because I just never really got into their self-titled EP, and I kind of forgot about them. But this post inspired me to go back and listen some more, and I think I've decided that, even though I don't love their louder, rockish tracks, they really shine in mellower songs like "Twilight". I'm thinking I might play this song on my show this week...

FoF is awesome! They are the coolest bunch of guys, and their music is amazing. They are a real talent. They deserve a lot more recognition than they have had so far. Relevant Magazine ranked the new album 6 on a scale of 7. Pick up a copy wherever you can find it.
