umm, what version VLC player do you use, because i tried to dump raw output but when i import it into iTunes and try to convert selection of iPod, it still says that the file cannot be converted or saved.

remember this method only makes the video ready for conversion to the iPod format. it doesn't make it iPod-ready. after you do what i've detailed, you'll have to convert it for iPod format like you usually do. my instructions are only to help get rid of the protection that stops you from converting.
