I was kind of surprised about "4:12" not being an option, too. I hold to what I said in the chatbox: while "Awakening" would definitely be a huge hit, I'd rather hear "Amateur Lovers" on the radio.

you know, im gonna be the renegade in this outfit and say "4:12." i feel like this osng is just so well rounded, and has just the right amount of intellectual stimulation that it'll challenge the listener, and not totally throw them into a mental loop. and the end of that song........LOVE. IT.

I have to go with Jill on this one. "Amateur Lovers" got my vote, though it was hard to fight the temptation to vote for "Yesterdays". But "Awakening" wouldn't be a bad choice at all, it just wouldn't have that surprise element.. since that song is the anthemic Switchfoot that radio already knows. "Amateur Lovers" on the other hand would really grab people's attention, and would erase some preconceived notions about the band.

I voted for "Amateur Lovers". In addition to it being one of my favorite tracks on the album, I think it would grab a lot of attention. After hearing Jon Foreman scream "Let's do it again!" and "professionals!" countless times, who could help but stop and say "Wait... what was that I just heard?" I think a song like that would be good for the radio listeners who are used to listening to the same styles and same artist over and over again. But maybe that's just me...

hey. I know what you mean too. I think "Dirty Second Hands" would do well.. it'd make people take a second glance like, "wait, is that Switchfoot?" but I'm not sure if that song would represent the entire album.. if you ask me.. I was thinking "Faust, Midas, and Myself" would make an interesting single.. not to mention a creative music video.
